We are having an arguement in the office.

Is a bagel with a filling called a bagel sandwhich?

My theory is that if it has a filling you put the filling first following by the word bagel, such as "a salt beef bagel" they state it is a "salt beef bagel sandwhich".

i think bagel sandwhich sounds stupid

a bagel sandwich would be a sandwich with a bagel in the middle. Which would clearly cause the world to disintegrate.

A sandwich by definition is 2 (or more) slices of bread with filling(s) of choice.

As such, rolls/bagels are exempt from that name.

Imo :p

God, I fancy a nice onion bagel now :(

A boss I had a few years ago used to pronounce bagel as buy-gull. It never failed to make me chuckle, therefore I never corrected him :D

I would say.

Cheese sandwich = 2 bits of bread with cheese
Cheese bagel = bagel with cheese
Cheese bagel sandwich = cheese bagel inbeetween two bits of bread
