Franky Bling ----- Dog pics

I have similar for my two staffs, it wasn't for looks, they pull too hard and on a collar they were choking, a harness pulls on their chest but mine are a lot easier to control and can pick them up by it too.

It's quite understandable, If I didn't have a dog that can look after itself I would be just as careful. I am careful because in my mind I couldn't bare to have my pet hurt somebody elses pet, Unfortunetly not all owners feel the same as me :(
I lost my first Staff of old age around 9 years ago & have had Frank nearly 7 years so have been into the breed for over 20 years maybe 25 now, I got in to the Breed because of the working class English connection & Not because I enjoy dog fighting. Truth be told the sound dogs make when they fight turns my guts & that's just when it's a couple of non fighting dogs let alone Staffs or Pitts.
I won't get another Staffy though after Frank as I get to attached, It took me over 2 years to get Frank after I lost my Boss doggy :(
After Frank I plan on getting a pair of rescue cats, A matching pair no less so I don't have a problem with compatibilty :p

Secret to owning a Staffy is socialising them from day one, Unfortunetly if they are kept apart from other dogs when they reach adulthood they kick off at the first sign of aggresion, My Frank got bit in the head by a sheepdog when he was 8 months old which has made him Hate big hairy dogs but apart from that he socialises very well for a Staffy dog.
With people he is Fantastic & there are old women around my manor that would take there handbag to your heads for dissing Frank :p

So what d'ya work him to Malc? Foxes? Does he bush? Will he find? I'm guessing from the look of him he's not seen much by way of actual close quarters work so I'm guessing you use him for flushing or something?

You can't beat a day out with the dogs, ferrets and guns. We've been clearing the ditches and cover crops of rats now the shoots are coming to an end - great fun :D You can't beat a day's digging or coursing, however :D

Well to be honest, when you live in a small village and there are about 6-7 staffies, ALL aggressive, its kind of hard not to think there not all the same.

Considering the bite statistics.

Dont you live in part of the country with the highest crime rates? Id want a staffy just for defence from getting stabbed

Then you'd have made a pretty poor choice, tbh. Unless you just wanted a dog that 'looked' tough. Much better to go with a Slovakian bred GSD, Malinois, CAO, well bred Bandog or similar. Oh and they don't really do anything properly unless they're one of the percentage with a suitable temperament (not just "mean" - that's not how it works) and properly trained :p

Ditto on the chav dog look, but I do understand the functional use of the harness itself.

I too live in a small village in Notts and pretty much every Staffy is owned by hideous chavs - if I saw you walking that around here I'd unfortunately mentally lump you in with them.

I love the breed, they are extremely nice dogs it is just a shame that the scum of the human race have given them such a bad name!

I hate going down to the local dogs home now because its 80% staffies, I think they have nearly 40 of them there now :( Most are nice, some have been scarred by their owners but the home is trying to retrain them.

I'd happily add one to my pack :)

I would however also look at getting a harness for one as I've heard they are quite clever at slipping their lead due to the shape of them. Not sure I'd get one with all the gold though!

Thats a pretty smart looking harness on Frank but personally I would have had silver instead of gold! Also as said he does look a a bit ***** lol.
