Hi all,

Quick question please

I bought an item from eBay and haven't left the seller feedback yet, as I haven't had a chance to test it out etc..

The seller has messaged me today, requesting me to hurry up and leave feedback, as funds will not get released to him until I do?

is this right?

Thanks

Yeah the same happened to me when I sold an item. There is a criteria for this to be triggered but I can't remember what it was. May have been because Ive not sold much before or because it's over a certain amount.

ok - thanks

well the item was only a fiver - So it could be because the fella is a new(ish) seller?

But he has 64 positive feedbacks and has been with eBay since 2005?

The seller though, can refund 1p to you, and it clears the funds his end.

Ive done it loads of times :D

But I bet he dont know that..

It normally happens if you have not sold for a while. Has happened to me before, but all you do is refund 1p to the buyer, then it clears the funds :)

The money automatically clears after 28days i believe, if no feedback has been left, the rules are there to protect the buyer, on recieving good goods to an accurate description then positive feedback is left funds are then released to the seller. I think this only applies if you have under 20 positive feedback though. The buyer at no point after funds are 'pending' can he cancel payment though.

Confused me abit today after I've just sold something as I've never seen that before either.... guess I'll be refunding that 1p, thanks for the tip!

Just another example of ebay pooing on sellers in favour of buyers.

Tbh it was a long time coming. Granted it may have swung too much the other way but sellers got away with murder for too long essentially blackmailing people into leaving positive feedback by giving negative feedback if they received it. A buyers part of the deal is to bid and pay. Job done. Why should a seller get the chance to leave feedback AFTER a buyer is forced to put theirs in. Equally why should buyers get ripped off by indiscriminate sellers who don't package/send things on time, correctly or even at all.

Because some customers are an absolute nightmare to deal with , and deserve a negative feedback at times for being so unreasonable.
