January Transfer Window Thread - rumours and signings here

i think zokora is the reason huddlestone has disappointed

i reckon if we pair him up from a proper midfield player then we will see what he is truly capable of

Redknapp has come out today and said that the arrival of Palacious has given him a "Selection Headache".

Now seeing as how we are also after Appiah (who played a behind-closed-doors game in a Spurs shirt last night) what is he going to do then?

IMO, he is setting himself up to drp Modric for the Bolton game, going for muscle rather than skill. Modric is definately no muscle.

Not much of a fan of Modric to be honest. Didn't see why people were raving about him from his Euro's performances and he's been awful for Spurs.

SSN reporting N'Zogbia will never play for newcastle again while kinnear is in charge

its all falling apart over there

LOL it appears the reason N'Zogbia is annoyed is because of the incident in the post match interview when kinnear called him "insomnia" by mistake

LOL

LOLWUT?! :p

He was absolute dung for the first few weeks.

Lately though, he has been phenomenal. Absolute class.

hmm i like modric think he is a good player but i would not be heartbroken if he left

he limits our options too much just trying to accommodate him espcially away from home

if we can find a playmaker with a bit of muscle or if he can hit the gym then that would be great

Good, now lets see him find another team. I was hoping his injury would see him past the end of the contract so he wouldn't be getting paid again until fit and playing.

10 weeks though is not too shabby, when he starts recovering will be new contract time. If he doesn't sign get someone to cut through that ankle in training ;)

There's a world cup next year. He's put his club ambitions on hold for 3 years so far just to play for England at the 2006 tournament. Hardly likely to risk missing out on his last world cup by staying put at the barcodes when he refused to at Real.

I do think Zakora was poor early season for sure, but though I haven't watched lots of spurs games and often crappy streams which go in and out, hasn't Zakora been rather brilliant in the past several games, making lots of key tackles, pushing you forwards and not misplacing the ball every seven seconds like the rest of the team?

Really the problem with spurs lies in the fact that they've gone for the guys who can look great in 1/10 games, but look average in 5/10 and the other 4 are ruddy awful. When the whole midfield is on a bad game, which is pretty often, they suck. Then its incredibly rare for even 2 out of 4 of them to be on their fantastic game, for 4 out of 4 to be on their best game you're looking at 2 or 3 great performances a year.

Consistancy is whats key to being good in the league, not the one off time they are brilliant. The other day Lennon had an end product, but normally he doesn't. MOdric has had a few good games lately but too many awful games.

I mean look at Anderson, Fletcher, Giggs, Scholes, to be fair none of them have had more than 2 truly fantastic games this year, but they very very rarely have a truly terrible game, and thats the key to consistancy, its about not being bad.... not about being great.

Same for us, Denilson, Walcott, Diaby, Ade they have had great games, but few and far between, its those games inbetween that made this year a no hoper for us.

Back to Man U, everyones talking about Ronaldo's poor form and how he hasn't been nearly as good. But his awful games, still bag him 1 goal in every 2 games and an assist every few games. Its not about how great he can be, its about the fact he's never truly terrible.

Chimbonda is a horrible buy for you, that was some game last year(year before probably) where he was solely at fault for a game you conceded 4 goals, when he's bad, he's horrific. You need to look for a completely different kind of player.
