Bottleneck

Hi i am soon upgrading to a 4850/70 (not sure yet) and a phenom II atm i only have anough for one and i was thinking of getting one whilst there cheap. Even if it dont put it in my system now.. if i did do you think either of them would bottleneck my current system?

Why are you looking at upgrading? Are you struglling with anything yet? tbh your system doesnt look to bad as is, I wouldnt of thought either would give you massive gains. If you were to go for it though I'd recomend the gfx card, if its gaming performance you're looking for, but then what size screen/resolution do you use? Your 3870 may well be good enough

atm 1360x768 but thinking of buying a new screen later on in the year and yeah that 4870 is cheap this week.

And your right lol i dont really need to upgrade. I just want to but i proberly shouldnt.

at that res the 512mb edition would be more than enough...

and if its the "this weeks offer" phenom 2 @3.0GHz have you thought about upgrading your ram to 6400 or even 8500.?

if your looking to upgrade monitor in the near future go for a 1gb 4870 and whack some more oc on your cpu

if your upgrading for the hell of it, dont bother.
