UK's LOWEST PRICE - Sapphire ATI Radeon HD 4870 1024MB GDDR5 GFX Card - £144.99 +VAT

Sold an insane amount in the last 24 hours.

Madness, only thing that holds a candle to how fast these are selling is the GTX 280 deal we had.

As I said earlier in the thread, you will need to get your ordering in tonight or tommorrow or we may run out!

Happy to have been of assistance. If you have any insane deals on Q6600s or similar I might even be able to help you out again. That's just the kind of guy I am.

What brand PSU are you using?

suppose it aint that great, got it from a m8 a while ago, is rated at 650W

http://www.sweex.com/BA000110

i have also tried to run the card with its own supply from a unbranded 400W PSU along with the above one powering the mobo and HD

only other thing in the system is a raptor drive and a couple of fans, no dvd rom etc etc

so u think it might be the PSU? hmmm could maybe pop oot the morrow and pick up a new better branded one. if i do though i hope this is the problem because i would h8 to think that i've watsed money on something that hasn't helped my situation.

edit: hmmm might try it the other way round with the 400W powering the mobo and HD and use the 650W on the card, wonder if this might be worth a try lol :)

what kind of power is required to these cards on there own?

A quality 500w unit is normally more than up to the job. Hard to say without trying a different PSU / 4807 1GB as to what the culprit is.

For a card to last you a couple of months its very worth it, but im saving up for the big 40nm battle with Nvidia who could come out first and then ATI behind, ill choose from them. Although this could power me for some time.

It is very much worth it, one of my best GFX purchases ever and not gonna replace it for quite some time :)

I'm not listening, i'm not listening(ok reading really), you know what I mean!
But seriously is it a worthwhile upgrade over the card in my sig? Begging for a voice of reason.

Just walked in and checked the sales...

Just a headsup that although we purchased enough to last for half a year we may run out before this week only ends.

Anyone holding off towards the end of the offer may want to reconsider!

So sales are running in the region of 30 times as high as normal. Nice to see I was right (post 83).

My card arrived at Hams Hall and left 2 minutes later...does anyone know why my card went to Birmingham this evening? No big deal, I'm just curious.

rolypolyman, NO!

New cards are coming in March, and could well have 1 and a half times the performance due to 1200 shaders, What's more 40nm will enable higher clocks - maybe even 2* the performance! AMD produced 40nm cards in early December, so they'll be finetuning them now (which, given the amazing yields AMD have, will result in even more boosted clocks!)- we might even be able to expect a february launch!

The benefits over a 9800GTX are very small, and not worth anywhere near £160. you'll lose PhysX, which is being supported in far more games, and CUDA - think of folding at home!. Your E6750 will bottleneck it unless you overclock to about 4Ghz...

Hams Hall is the hub all our goods go to before being distributed around the country.:)
