Looking at finding a 2nd hand 3800+ upwards. Anyone running a similar chip for a test VMWare set-up?

Still running iWorkstation 6.5 on an old 3600 x2 based PC. It seems to bash the harddrives more than the processor on my rig YMMV...

I had a 3800+ (4GB) with W2K3 running VMServer. It was ok, but nothing compared to my Q6600 with 8GB RAM :)

It was ok for a couple of VM's but started to slow down once i got 3 - 4 machines up and running.

DC + SCCM Server + SQL 2005 server + XP workstation.

The main thing I want to do is get more into VMWare as I'll be supporting is shortly.
