hey guys,

As the tile saids really, do I need anything special to be able play movies with DTS sound??

At the moment when I play a movie with DTS sound it just sounds like they are all underwater.

I've currently got a gigabyte ga-ma78g-s2h mobo and I'm using the on board sound. I have the headphone socket (3.5mm jack) running to the AUX port on my HT system.

I have another sounds card that has Digital out and since my HT system has digital in, I thought I'd give that a bash. However I can't do it for a few hours yet and I'm wondering weather it will help at all.

The other sound card is a trust 5.1 sc5200.

I suppose the my main question is, does the sound card have to be DTS labeled to be able to play that content? Or is it a software thing that I can sort with the right audio codac in MP??

Cheers for your time.

As long as you can send that DTS bitstream over a digital connection your amp can decode it otherwise it'll have to be decoded in software and sent over the 5.1 output (3x 3.5mm jacks) to your system.
