creative fatalty card
a few fans and an antec 900

after hearing things worried bout it poping n ruining the rest

Cheers!

That 600W will be fine, search google for an online wattage calculator like this one: http://www.vbutils.com/power.asp and fill out your spec (there is a better one but I can't remember what site it's on). All this talk of 850W PSU's is overkill unless you have several GPUs.

For a nice sense of real usage you could also search these forums for the thread about how much power a PC actually draws which lists findings taken from forum members and their own PCs.

Bling-bling based to ripple prone FSP Epsilon platform.
Would prefer Corsair VX450 over those.

In any case peak draw of those parts will be around 250W.

You'll better replace that link with this:

Ha, I know the 600W is OTT but if he already has it he may as well keep it in the happy knowledge it is enough.

Yeah, I knew there were better calculators out there but I was too distracted to havea proper look.

To OP, +1 for this corsair.

I wouldn't use that calculator, it comes up with 600W for my system... Highly unlikely considering it's the following:
Asus P5N-E
Intel C2D E6600 (Stock Cooler + Clocks)
2x1GB DDR2 667
8800GT
2 SATA HDDs
1 DVDRW

So unless there's a better calculator out there, it's easier to stick to common sense :P

Id trust it as 600W is definatley enough to power your system at full load

I'm deperately trying to remember the really good one now but I just cant quite get it, frustrating.

I don't get this current trend of massively powered PSUs though unless you buy one for upgrade potential (though as more focus comes on "green" I don't see power draw increasing too much in the next 2 years or so, "enthusiast" stuff aside).
