Recommend me a hyrbid/commuter bicycle

Had my recently upgraded Giant Escape m1 nicked so I need a new bike for getting to and from work

Edinburgh Bicycles Courier Race... Under your budget but TBH it'll do the job pretty much as well as anything. Stick a 1" riser mtb bar on it and you've got a fantastic commuter, all day comfort and very light.

Looks like they have stopped production of the Courier Race

Seen a Cube SL Cross Comp for £500, looks quite nice but I can't find any reviews for it

also seen a Felt qx75 2008 for £350, again no reviews

Been using a Spec Globe Sport for the last 6 months, it's been pretty good for me so far.

One of these, Specialized Sirrus. Really nice bike to ride and eats up the miles.

Seconded, mine's a Specialized Vita (girly Sirrus) and I took it out for 16 miles up and down hills today - much speedier and lighter than my old hybrid
