A day out ratting

Agree with all Pilkys comments.

Also, this is a family forum and those pictures shouldnt be there whichever side of the fence you fall on

As I already said, hunting is fun and educational for all the family. We (and everyone else I know, all around the world) take the kids out with the ferrets, dogs and guns as soon as they're able. The images aren't family un-friendly, they're anti/hippy/townie un-friendly :p If a Don had a problem I'm sure they'd have removed them by now. I'll bow to their superior judgement.

So everyone who doesn't like pointlessly killing things is a hippy/townie?

I think a lot of the people who are finding it offensive to kill rats are the city folk who probably think that the packets of chicken, lamb, beef etc are created that way. They've probably never seen an animal killed.

At the end of the day rats are vermin and to keep numbers down, there is no harm in hunting the vermin and reducing their numbers.

If any people find it offensive to kill rats, perhaps some rats should be dropped off in their nice cosy flats. After a few days, these very people will appeal for the erradication of rats.

I used to live in India, where rats were well fed and very large. They were bold and we used to trap them in large rat traps and pour boiling water over them to kill them. This went on for a good few weeks, where every night, a rat would be caught. Eventually, all rats were caught and they never entered the house again. I've lived with rats and its not nice.

In the wild, animals hunt in a very savage way. Even house cats will tear a rat/mouse apart in a brutal way, so get used to it...its nature...its what goes on in wild habitats and hunting small numbers of rats (vermin) with dogs, is not a big deal. Its not even an unlawful act.

Or maybe that is indecent and carrys age ratings..

The only reason OPs pictures are not rated is they havent gone through classification, if they were part of a film for example, they would be classified and it certainly wouldnt be a U - fun for or the family.

In any case you argued that it was okay because it was nature at work and nature doesnt care about human mandated decency laws, explicit sex is just as natural as what you posted.

Additionally I'm aware that this is Spie's forum but i find that a moot point, it's still not family forum material.

Would make for an interesting thread :D

I believe I'm twisted enough to shoot people, rather humans than animals also why the **** am I classed as a hippie:confused: I have no problem with any kind of hunting as long as its done humanly, whats wrong with that.

Shoot them so its quick and clean so there is no suffering...

Eh. They are vermin. They spread disease. They eat our food (if in our houses). They spoil crops.

There is no "quick, clean or no-suffering" as far as rats go.

They should be killed in whichever way possible.

You can also join the list of needs to learn the basics of nature. They eat crops, spread disease and are classed as vermin.. So yes they do damage.. Go back to your city pub and leave other people alone, when you have no idea what you're talking about.
have you ever been on a farm  they really do do harm!

Wow, it's amazing how many people can't read.
I suppose my stance is if it serves a useful purpose then yes it's fine but you're doing it just for kicks then you've crossed the line. The rats aren't doing any harm so why harm them?
As I said. If they're on your land and doing damage to your building/produce/etc then do it. If you're just driving to a random field and hunting them for fun then it's wrong.

So you 100% certain none of your ancestors went on safari?

Or any of your ancestors worked with animal fighting etc in the past?

You knew the point I was making and took it to one side of the scale. I'd say most people would want to respect their environment and hunt for just food and clothes. They grew up with the environment they live in and know their part in it.

When I had a mole destroy my garden, I used one of those mole traps that almost cuts the bugger in two. Loads of people I know had issues with me killing it in that method.

I honestly don't know what they expected me to do instead, talk to the little mole ask him to move on?

I have to say when I finally caught the little **** it did give me satisfaction.

I don't have an problems with dogs tearing rats apart, I'd rather shoot them myself but the dogs obviously enjoy the workout.
