Transformers 2 Teaser

thats not devastator??

if it is they kinda messed him up, dont remember him having a big ass wheel at the bottom :(

It's not who "Devestator" was in the first film, but more the combo guy that formed from the various constructicons in the G1 series.

Edit - ah you're right. That Hi-def downloaded really was a lot clearer. I don't know who it is then. Weird.

I have to say every other adaptation of comic books has been generally faithful to the originals, yet for some reason in Transformers it's different. I don't read them, but I'm sure there wasn't as many irked off long time fans when Spiderman, Hulk, X-Men and Iron Man were put into film. I don't mind slight uptodate changes e.g. the paintwork on Prime or subtle ones, e.g. Ratchet being a search and rescue vehicle as opposed to an ambulance, but there are far too many other weird and wholesale deviations.

It's like they got a deal for a car/van/truck to appear, and then randomly dipped into the comics for a name.

Also Bay did state they tried to keep the characters they chose for the first film closer to the comics, but they came out stupid. Sure put in as many moving parts, cogs, rivets, tubes as wanted but they seemed to have totally gone a step beyond that.

It appears that bot at the end is ONE of the constructicons, of which 5-9 make up Devastator rumoured to be in the film.

Thats right, ONE of the FIVE to NINE robots which join up to make Devastator, HOLY COW!

Here he is, 'Steam Shovel'. With an optimus prime on there conveniently for scale, just like the ad.

Good work chap! :D

The Wiki on them tells how many the film's going to feature. I won't put that number here.

Actually "Steam Shovel" doesn't appear as any names? Unless you mean Mixmaster?

The third reason is... Devastator!

I stand corrected

It is devastator:

The Constructicons, several construction vehicles who can combine into a single robot known as Devastator.[3] The name Devastator was mistakenly given to Brawl, a tank, in the first film. The name Bonecrusher, who was one of the Constructicons in the 1980s and Transformers: Universe, was also used for a Decepticon killed in the first film. The original Constructicon names Scrapper and Mixmaster appeared as drone units in the Transformers movie video game. Orci stated during writing neither character will be resurrected though. The names of them haven't been revealed yet.[85]

Although it could be the fallen!
