LOTRO Free Trial and anyone still play?

The new classes are Warden and Runekeeper. Lore Master is one of the original ones.

My bad, always get those 2 mixed up, haven't been playing too long.

Either way they are annoying with their silly little 'lightning bolt' like attack. Fits the lore perfectly

I actually wish there was a way to turn that off, very annoying when your screen keeps flashing white from some runekeeper a hundred feet away. Don't know how people actually play them without having epileptic fits :)

True story, I sometimes think its my graphics card that's overheating and I'm getting artifacts on the screen only to turn around and there's one of them zapping away at something.

What there's no rail gun in game? Loving my burglar at the mo, should hit 20 tonight then might try one of those before I settle on a main. I like that crack.

Was playing the trial last night and wondered what the hell was going on when the screen kept flashing! Now I know :)

Rolled a guardian on evernight server but after looking at the forums , seems its a bit of a nerfed class , typical as I cant be bothered to start another character!

the guardian isnt a nerfed class, its just with the insane levels of dmg huntards/Champs/Loremasters do we have a horrendous time trying to keep aggro and do our main job 'tanking'...

however if i go into overpower stance equip my 2nd age lvl 60 legendary i have no trouble dishing out tons of dmg both solo and AoE whilst having substainially more mitigation & survivability of most other classes.

Since MoM release theres a ton of imbalance and tweaking to be done so its a case of persevere for the time being plus its a lot easier to level a guardian now before...

Ok , thanks for the advice , I will stick with the guardian now , I'm just slightly concerned from reading the lotro forums that champions are now better tanks while also having much higher dps. Hopefully they will balance it though as you say.

too rite having to ride all the way to micheal delving and back takes an age

If I tell you that at level 53 I still don't have a pony and instead run around everywhere through all manner of nasty elite trolls and giants and the like, would that make it feel a bit less of a chore? :)

yes it would my friend i dont know how you do it, could you kin not lend you the money if you havent got it :)

I'm liking all of em. WOW, Warhammer Online: AOR and LOTRO + Mines of Moria exp

Warhammer would easily be the best of them all if it had the same sized community as WOW.

Champs are better tanks than before, but I wouldn't say they are better tanks than guardians. Guardians are THE tank in the game. Its just about giving them enough time to lock aggro before your trigger happy hunter friends start shooting.

To be honest the most useful thing I have been able to do as Champ when in fellowships or raids against big boss situations is clobber. (Interrupts induction skills like summoning and healing).

All the classes have their place in fellowships/raids, that's the main reasoning behind their design and I think whether they play better or worse in solo is a secondary consideration in this game.

I think that the current issue with Guardians (level 50-60) is that their ability to generate threat does not scale well with the increases in dps from other classes... Because of this, Guards struggle to hold aggro and a Champion going full out DPS will probably hold it better than a Guardian can. Of course with the right setup a guard can generate more threat than a Champ but at the expense of greatly reduced DPS which means a greater amount of time is required to kill mobs by the fellowship.

Another option is to switch to overpower and go the DPS route, but then you will effectively just be a 'poor mans' champ.

So control the aggro. I'm champ and theres places I seldom even use AoE for that reason.

A good kill is not just about causing all the damage you can as quick as possible, but about balancing everything so that you may down the boss a bit slower but no one takes too much aggro in the process and those taking aggro are covered by the healers.

Our leader constantly shouts stuff like manage aggro, nuke, clobber healer, AoE on X, and when we all comply things go well :)
