Concerned about new BFG GTX280!

Running furmark on my 260 MAXCORE OC'd to 280 speeds doesn't get over 65C in extreme stability test mode (once the fan has kicked in proper) so I'd have thought the 280 shouldn't hit much more than that.

I think my card is fine really, since putting it on auto its good even in furmark now, won't go about 86 deg which is fine by me.
I just assume warhead has a few glitches, other games are lookin real nice its amazing the improevemtn in IQ, I never believed it and thought it was voodoo, COD4 for example still looks real nice maxed out n stuff:)
Any guides to making a fan profile in rivatuner I am being tard and can't figure out how to make one...
hang on google is my friend

This is what I said in another thread:

auto fan seems very very sluggish to respond to extremes... I ended up tweaking mine using rivatuner:

power user->RivaTuner\Fan\AutoFanSpeedControl:3

Low-level system tweaks:

Fan->Enable low-level fan control

Select Auto

Double click on the entries

Duty cycle min: 47
Duty cycle max: 100
T min: 53
T range: 20
T operating: 64
T low limit: 52
T high limit: 68

This seems to allow it to agressively react to extreme temps and keep the VRMs in check without making a lot of noise under normal circumstances and ramping the fan up elegantly so you don't notice the increase in noise so much.

The exact numbers will need to be changed for your card to suit the clockspeed, your cooling and model, etc. I'm not gonna start explaining how to tweak each setting tho :S

When I had my GTX 280 OC it wasn't going above 80 load Pete. Message me on MSN and I'll tell you how to make a fan profile.

Not only should you make Rivatuner stepped fan profiles to raise the fan speed along with the temps you should also opt for two hotkeys, one for 100% & one for 40%. I use two obscure numpad keys for this & if I want to turn off the PC straight after playing a graphic demanding game I can press the selected 100% key & rapidly cool down the card.
Incidentally my 280 never goes above 60c even playing GTA4 or Crysis on high settings
