UK's LOWEST PRICE - Sapphire ATI Radeon HD 4870 1024MB GDDR5 GFX Card - £144.99 +VAT

Absolutely gutted. The day I get some money to buy one they have run out and looks like I'll miss out on the deal now :(

I know that feeling!

Yep, out of stock. Hopefully the success of this will mean more bargaintastic offers.

I hope so, I'll be ordering my build next week now so FINGER CROSSED FOR MORE BARGAINS!!!

Come on Slackworth make us happy!! lol

Can anyone recommend some game based benchmarks for me to compare my 4850 with the 4870 when I get it?

Not fussed about all the Futuremark/Vantage stuff, I'm looking for more gaming benchmarks like the DMC4 one I have.

Thanks!

I may send mine back, should arrive tomorrow and still not shifted my other card, I could crossfire it with a 4850 512mb but its gonna limit the clocks and the memory use, plus I dunno if my antec 500 earthwatts will be up to it :(

You can sign up to the newsletter which would include the deals in it most likely as they all come in the "This Week Only" section generally - or "weekend only" deals for instance.

Have a look at the account settings section on the site for an opt in.

all i can say is watch this space on the 4870x2

think i might hold out for this then, overclockers refunded me for a 9800gt i recently bought (cheers by the way), i want a really good card that is silent, or near silent. It must run games like gta iv smooth, on highest, on a 1680x1050 resolution.

Im thinking the card mentioned above will do it :)

Whilst an excellent card - going by reviews, I think you will seriously struggle with the silent or near silent part of your wish as they are mostly quite noisy as they do run pretty toasty.

Just fitted mine today a big improvement over 3870 x2 a lot smoother especially in crysis. the card is quiet at idle but its louder than my old card under load and the 3870 x2 was not exactly quiet!:p

Still a good buy for the money if you dont mind the noise

drop the fan down to 40% and you wont hear it at all

Check out This Review, it shows you some of the fastest cards benchmarked in GTA4.

Gutted this is now out of stock! Just as I got paid too!!
really had my hopes set on xfiring these for that price!

get some more back in OcUK!

i thought about trying that but wouldnt it cause the card to get very hot the card idles at 58c after a few hours not sure about load temps but the fan runs higher than 40%

:(

mine idles at around 40deg and has hit no higher than 55deg.
Which compared to the idle temps of the old coolers (reported 75deg +) then it's a massive improvement.

Guess I was lucky. Ordered mine Sunday evening and when I checked the site on Monday it showed out of stock and thought DOH!! but my order went through and got my card this morning. :)

I ordered one on saturday night when it still said instock to be delivered this thursday, still says in warehouse queue, hopefully one was put aside for my order?

Am liking the card so far, am going to try out GTA IV shortly as that's the only game I felt my old card really had problems with so will be interested to see how it does.

Tried the benchmark in CoH and with everything maxed out and 8xAA @ 1920x1200 I got about 45fps average which was higher (nearly double in fact) than my old 3870 managed with no AA :D

I also tested Warhead with varying levels of AA so will get around to try that out now too but GTA IV has priority !

The card itself is pretty quite I feel, it certainly isn't any louder than the 3870 at idle (bearing in mind I have the triplex version) and the fan isn't audible over gaming when it spins up to 50% odd - however it is obviously when it ramps up the rpm!

Am pleased so far as my enermax 500w is managing to power it without any blackouts or restarts and that's with my Q6600 still at 3Ghz - I might not need a new psu after all :D
