sorry guys, another dreamy thread!

At worst i think you should take on board what everyone is saying. Cockyness + RWD + No driving aids in a Triumph isnt going to be a pretty result. People said the same sort of things to me as it was my first car. But for me that was what i wanted.

I did however take onboard the things people have said and i still do.

I think the immaturity shown in your 2 threads along with your willingness to ignore what everyone is saying and protest you are right is what is winding everyone up.

Scary. Modern convertibles have roll bar support, if you roll that triumph there is a 99% chance of being killed.

and if i hit a tree in a saxo because I understeer there's probably a 9% chance I'll get killed. You can't go round making life descisions on some scary statistics. At the end of the day, just because you can die from rolling doesn't mean im going to roll it, just because a lot of young drivers have crashes doesnt mean i will. Frankly your likely to have a crash as a new driver in any car you have.

Yant within my first year of driving I had a very major accident.

I was driving a brand new Astra. I thought I was the nuts, I rolled it at 60mph - it rolled 2.5 times into a ditch and stayed on it's roof. Me and my friend walked away from it unscathed.

The Triumph does 60mph doesn't it? If we were in an old car (like the Triumph) we would've been dead, simple.

I won't role it and i'll drive carefully then

And if you survive you'll probably be in a wheelchair. no one is calling you a retard, we are trying to tell you that inexperience + a car that offers hardly any crash protection is possibly a fatal combination.

There is no right and wrong though, it's subjective mostly, and I don't want opinions or statistics on new drivers. I asked for advice on the car. Simple. And you actually gave me some, and I thank you for that.

I'm also not cocky, I'm probably less cocky than 90% of new drivers.

If you get understeer in a saxo, you are driving too fast and being an idiot anyway. proving that you wouldnt have experience. you are a lot more likely to do this in the triumph that a saxo though

so far I've been called in this thread alone dellusional, a joker, a fool, immature, naive, stupid, cocky, wet and more, and you want me to show you all respect? Gosh.

and the thing that connects with the road first after a roll isn't a nice modern rollbar. It's his head :(

Yantorsen what have your parents said about this idea?

You can't simply make statements like that.

I don't go out in my car everyday and say "today, I won't stack it" because my future telling skills are somewhat...lacking.

Drive as carefully as you like, no drive is the same, you could be driving along nice and carefully then hit a dip which causes the backend to go, car goes sideways and the rolls.

Saying 'I'll drive it carefully and not roll it' is something which just doesn't apply.

Plus its your first car and first year of driving, your going to want to rag it. Teeerust me

it's all likelyhoods though. If I drive either carefullly enough for the conditions I'll be fine.

I give up too. I'll tell you why, we're trying to be responsible, we're trying to think of your safety but you want to argue with everyone and take the fact that you'll be an inexperienced driver as criticism. The fact that you are a new driver bears a direct relevance to your choice of car. Ignore everyone's advice and experience at your peril.

to be fair him hitting his head when he rolls it might knock some sense into him, and seeing as he isnt taking any advice then i say go for it yant!

I am not ignoring it, but I didn't ask for it, I wanted peoples knowledge on the car.
