sorry guys, another dreamy thread!

And I'm pretty sure 99% of the population still survived back in the day as well.

They didn't. They would have died very painfully in accidents that modern cars allow people to walk away from unharmed. Plus your silly triumph is costing you 2k, my Fiesta only cost £900. Thats £1100 you can put towards insurance.

You think more than 1% of the pop was killed in those days because cars didnt have air bags? Right.... now who's naive.

Look I understand what your saying, I agree it's more dangerous, but that isn't going to change my mind.

Thanks for the advice, but the 2k budget is just for the car i have other money for the rest.

your going to have a hard time convinving me not to get a classic car when i can for the same money as a banger.

well do it then.

what are you learning in?

wow, thats £1100 I can waste on insuring a crap car. Or I could just put it towards a better car. Hmmmm I know what I'd pick.

Don't you dare call me naive. How can you call me naive by saying modern safety equipment saves lives.

What but it's ok for you to call me naive? Your saying modern safety equipment saves about 500,000 lives a year?

I'm not talking figures, i don't care about numbers, stop trying to distract from my point.

Haha oh dear, you really are a wally. My Fiesta is 1000x better than a spitfire for what i need, a safe, reliable runabout. I don't want an old triumph that will let me down. I can also assure you that my Fiesta will leave a spitfire in unexperienced hands standing down a country lane.

So a Fiesta is a "crap" car. Wrong very wrong my friend. These types of posts make you look stupid and shows up your ignorance.

You've never even driven a Fiesta for an extended period of time so you cannot possibly judge first hand if it is a decent car or a bad car.

well it was a bit of an obvious point u just used to distract from my point.

That's your opinion again, most acounts of owners actually suggest that spitfires are pretty reliable, and i dont care if your fiesta would be quicker, it wouldn't be anywhere near as much fun. Theres plenty of other reasons i dont like your fiesta, but i dont feel the need to list them since there all my opninion, and if your happy, thats good.

The problem we have here is that a spitfire and a Fiesta cannot be compared. For me the Fiesta is practical and has enough poke to put a smile on my face when i open the taps down a lane. The spitfire was designed to be a sunday afternoon car, not everyday dependable transport.

I'm talking about my opinion though, i think it's a crap car. the new ones aren't so bad, but there out of my budget. The old ones look terrible, feel terrible, sound terrible, and I couldnt care less if they went like a bullet for all the other reasons.
