The Lexus beats mine, I was going to say a Mitsubishi Galant V6-24, which are easily purchased for under a grand.

Although I can go one better, I've purchased 2 of them (one saloon, one estate) in the last 6 months for a total of £960! ;)

Honda Legend, 3.5's like this

seem to be selling for around 1k on the bay. The older 3.2 models for less.
I quite like them, shame they are FWD but can't have everything.

I would have this:
Mercedes-Benz CE

The last of the really good Mercedes the W124, and I'd have it as a coupe just because they have a great shape. This car is blessed with a 3 litre straight 6 enigine with 215hp. £900 for a good working car gives you enough money to get the silly silver graphics peeled off as well.

Not convinced at a 300CE for a grand, thats not usual

Plus the V12 is an absolute nightmare to work on.

Doesnt matter what they are like to work on, but there is no way that car is kosher. This thread is about genuine honest cars which are bargains, not one off scam's or projects :)

Point is, if you want to buy a car for a grand, it'll cost you ten times that in repairs probably :p

You mean, appears to be genuine and honest... from the AT advert?

Wouldn't an Omega for £600 be a nightmare?

My workmate just bought a Primera for £25. 1993, 77k, full Nissan history. It drives perfectly:p
