I'm a bit confused by all this. I had a look for Danbo the other night and the main sellers appear to be Japan with a few being sold from the US. So i scouted about at a couple of Japanese sites which listed them as costing around 17-18quid and when i looked at shipping it had two options, one around 11quid (express delivery) while the other was just over 5quid (SAL) although the second option wasn't available for some countries it was for the UK. I thought those would be the only charges from ordering it. Import tax? Are customs and excise going to intercept the 'shipment' and slap a load of extra cost onto them?
Continuing from this afternoon, the way i see it when companies ship goods oversees they need a haulage firm to transfer the goods from A to B. This is done via space they need within a crate, which can be lumped in with a load of other goods from other companies. The haulage firm would have to declare how much stuff they're transporting and pay the duty on it? And that cost is passed through to the companies within the crate and thats how they determine the P&P ontop of the cost of the item you've bought. So i shouldn't think any additional charges would be incurred just for bringing it back to britain.
But I could be wrong
if not can you put me down for sure.
