Thanks to all those folks who gave me advice along the way.

I know the cables are all over the place - I need to buy a few extensions etc. but that can wait for now.

Dramatically reduced my temps, and allowed me to safely overclock to 4.2Ghz!!

Nice scores

The room you have your rig in must be like a sauna, when I had xfire in my pc with 2 4850's on air I needed a fan to keep me cool. I would imagine the 295s run waay hotter.

Um, not at all actually. The Room is as hot or cold as I want it to be due to the magic of central heating.

Hi Spitzoid,

Nice job !!!!

How easy was the Apex ultima to fit as a matter of interest as I am considering going watercooled myself - but unsure as I have never used watercooling before. Those temps at 4Ghz sure do look good. I am currently using the Ultra 120 Extreme and am very tempted to go for this water kit for better temps and quietness.

Your advice on your experience with the kit would be welcome.

tipes - As a first time water cooler I can only tell you that the instructions with the kit made it as easy as possible. It probably took me about 3 hrs to set up and then 12 to test (although the instructions say 3). The most difficult part is fitting the tubing over the barbs, but if you have a supply of boiling water nearby to soften the ends it isn't too much of a problem. You would probably have to modify your case (drill a couple of holes) to mount the res, it does come with Velcro strips but these were never going to be strong enough.

All in all, fairly straightforward.

edit: in terms of quietness, you have to remember that unless you are mounting the rad inside your case then you are going to have an extra two 120mm fans outside the case.

Hi,

Thanks for getting back to me - sounds like a good thumbs up from you regarding this kit, and it certainly seems to perform well.

May well decide to get one - thanks again.

That's a very tidy install. Minimal tubing, properly radiused bends, neat installation of the MicroRes and pump and it all just looks right, if you know what I mean.

10/10 from me!

yeah great setup, very tidy, your cables are nothing compared to the mess inside of here, cables and pipes everywhere :p

That's looking great mate, there's nothing better than a freshly watercooled setup! Especially if it contains hardware that makes me jizz

Looks great!

Although if your thinking of adding the 2 295's into your loop, you will have to look at the spec of the pump, and would probably need another rad
