Best RAM upgrade path for me.....

I have been running 2gb of OCZ 6400 MHz RAM with Vista 32 for the past few months but I've now decided to give the Windows 7 beta a go and I know it supports more that 3bg of RAM so I'm looking for the best upgrade option for me to go to 4gb!
My motherboard is the Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3P (rev 1.1) and it says it can support DDR2 1066MHz memory.

My question is, is it worth going for the 1066MHz RAM over the 800MHz RAM for the extra cost??

I wasnt considering upping my exisiting RAM (apart from anything else its currently 2 x 1gb and I'm not sure how many slots I've got!) but both of the sets you suggest are 6400MHz or 8500MHz arent they?? Or isnt that the MHz rating??

I mainly use my PC for HD video playback and gaming!

not really but the 1066 is just £3 more so why not.?

and pc2-6400 and 8500 is not 6400MHZ and 8500MHZ mate

pc-6400 = 800MHz and 8500 = 1066MHz (its how they work it out in binary or something like that, college days lol)

just like 5300 = 667MHz and 4200 = 556MHz

to be honest the only difference is the timmings 5-6-6-18 (Gold) compaired with 5-5-5-18 (platinum)

for a tenner i bet the gold could run at 5-5-5-18 with some bios/ram settings no problem ;)

i wouldnt pay a tenner personally mate the only difference you would see in those very small timmings difference would be in a benchmark, i highly doubt you would notice in game play..etc :)

I'm inclined to agree...... trouble is I'm also very impatient and the gold set isnt in stock for next day delivery!!!!! :p

Nooooooooooooo :confused:

I went to get the platinum set and its been dropped from the "this week only" deals!!!!!!:mad:

I thought the weekly deals finished on a Thursday for some reason!!!!
