This is just a double check for my peice of mind
I have a Zalman Reserator V1 due to be delivered in the next day or so
with it there is some water additive Innovtek Liquid to prevent algea and corrosion etc
I have been advised by the seller (Deadly Ferret) that it is best to use distilled water with the additive a whopping 2.5L from what ive read from Zalmans website.
Locally i have been unable to find distilled water but was able to get Purified Water 5L from the local chemist.
Again from what i read about the internet Purified/Distilled/De-Ionized water are basically all the same. Having a low PH making it basically an Alkaline and having 90% or more contaminets removed i.e copper, chlorine etc.
I know i could just use something like Fesser one but at nearly £10 a bottle it would cost me £50 to fill the reserator.

Bassically what i need to know is using the Purified water ive bought with the correct amount of the Innovtek Liquid will be fine.

Dont use purified water and the liquid,
Go out and buy some Feser One.
Already sorted for corrosion algae and all that lot
And it even gives you pretty colours :D

But £50 + the reserator is expensive

The Reserator was a good price as it was second hand from MM i cant complain there.

but £50 to fill it with the most popular coolant used is a bit extreme.
considering the 5L of purifed water only cost me £3.10

Worth it IMO, but then shouldnt have got a reserator in the first place :p

Bought this as i wish to reduce my temps and get rid of fan niose from my system.
My looking at it is by removing the cpu heat directly out of the case silently i should be able to reduce the rpm on the rest of my fans including the video cards as they will not be trying to expell the heat from my cpu as well.

Did check my local garage and supermarket but both did not stock de-inoized water.

What ive bought should be the same as this

if not better as they stock it primarliy for the local Dentist

I did find l De-Ionized water online for around £4 but it was nearly £9 for P&P

using urine is the way forward, the electrolytes and enzymes help to keep the temp down, and if you drink just the right amount of alcohol the night before you can get it an luminous green colour and of course its free.
the only down sides arwe if your missus sees you NO SWEARING PLEASE - This is a family forum - Please Read The FAQ into your PC and if yu get a leak.

She already thinks im cheating on her with the PC but i draw the line at adding wee to my W/C unit.

di-ionised water is sold in almost every halfords - it will be next to the car batteries most likely.

Purified water – is the general term to describe ‘water from any source that is physically processed to remove impurities.’ including Distilled, deionized, reverse osmosis, carbon filtration, microporous micro filtration, ultra filtration, ultraviolet oxidation, or electro dialysis.

Distilled - Distillation involves boiling the water and then condensing the steam into a clean container, leaving most solid contaminants behind - Distillation does not guarantee the absence of bacteria in drinking water

De-Ionized - is water that has had its mineral ions removed, such as cations from sodium, calcium, iron, copper and anions such as chloride and bromide - deionization does not significantly remove uncharged organic molecules, viruses or bacteria

It’s the ion’s that cause the corision but that organic molecules that help the algee to grow. so both of the above has watercooling 'issues' if addatives are not used.

One or multipule filtration methods is massively better. (removes the bugs and organic molecules) and this is what Feser Aqua is – (reverse osmosis used first then de-ionized) this removes the need for anti algee / anti corision additives.

Feser one is NOT the same quality – and additives are required to keep it corision resistant due to the added colour. It will also reduce your flow rates slightly over FA above

In summery
Feser Aqua is the best
Feser one = de-iodized + antifreeze + nuke = distilled + engine coolant + nuke
Die + any of the above is the lease (but still a safe option if fully drained and cleaned every year)

Edit: recomendation (Al + Cu)- Feser aqua, or home brew (distilled with audi G11-blue/G12 pinky/red or G12+ purple 1:20 ratio and a few drops of PT nuke)

This has made my day! Love how Overclockers steps in and removes the filth. We have to guess what he put, lol.

My nearest Halfords is 2 hours away

So the best i could get locally was purified water as used by our local dentist.
unfortuneatly the label doesnt say by which method.
but as im adding Innovtek additive it should be fine i hope.

If it's from a dentist it will be distilled (if from a bottle) - or if your really lucky by reverse osmosis (if from a third 'slow running' tap next to the sink)

Oops you said 'label on the bottle' so distilled it is :)

Both will be fine with the Innovtek solution

From local chemist but they supply it to our local dentist
so minimum it should be distilled but as you say i may be lucky and its been done by reverse osmosis.
Not too bad at £3.10 for a gallon of it
