Why do people think Newcastle are a small club?

I'm a supporter and have been nothing but disappointed really. Constant bad management decisions and lack of player experience have plagued the club for a while.

We've had some great players over the years though, just seems like the potential has never been fully realised, for various reasons.

The number of fans and size of the club seems very big for their achievements I admit, we've been an average side for a while though, but just have lots of dedicated supporters.

i dont get this

why do newcastle think they have the most passionate fans

is it because they like to make the most noise and hold protests outside the stadium when things are going wrong?

Well be a big club next year when we're in the championship. Atleast there will be 23 away day **** ups instead of 19.

make that 46 mate if you count each half of the matches, but seriously where do the toon go from here? i would like:

> sack wise and tony jimenez
> mike coward money bags business only man ashley out
> freddy sheperd as chairman again (forget the past)
> keegan/shearer for manager - both can have shares in the club
> Terry M and Nigel P back
> sort the deawood out, why hasnt the likes of viduka, barton, smith had there contracts cancelled or lowered, they are picking up huge wage packets for squat
> i wont be dissapointed if owen leaves, like mourhino said he's a shadow of the player he used to be
> play obagoal martins and andy carol up front
> guttierez to score or attack more (thats why the fa said he cant wear his spiderman mask if he scores, he never does thats why!!!)
> guthrie and beye are our best signings
> give nolan and r taylor a change, no disrespect to them but we were promised 4-5 top world class players, again another smokescreen filled with tish

Dam they just need to go back to basics, its a shambles, and worrying times, we only just scraped out of this last year, what can mike ashley's yes man in kinnear do to save us.

Get your championship tickets ready lads :(

have you ever been to the north east to understand what we are all about?

out of interest who do you all support?

im not doubting what you remember at all. but really, people are interested in whats going on right now. Im lucky - club football bores me. however i do occasionally go to watch luton loose ever now and again :p

if newcastle were a big club then someone would have bought them by now.
home fan base is one thing, world wide is another. NUFC is not a big club to rival the top 4, maybe top 7 or 8.

I'm a Stokie and season ticket holder between 1970 and 2007 and I say NUFC have a way more passionate fan base.
As soon as Stoke go back down again around 15,000 season ticket holders will give them up.
Stoke have many glory hunters.

thats sad to hear coming from a stoke fan in yourself, there are many clubs with great fans, glory hunters spoil it.

No, we are passionate because we stick with the team through thick and thin (mostly thin), you never see an empty st james park because the fans always get behind the team. If trophies were won based on fan support, we would be a cut above the majority, sadly it doesnt work like that

A couple of relatively successful seasons during the mid-90's, masks a horrendous history of underachievement, but it's generally all hot air.

I don't care if you have a large stadium, or alleged passionate fan-base - where were all these passionate fans in the late 80's when you were scraping around near the base of the old Division 2?

Fact remains, despite all the huff and puff, Newcastle have won nothing for over 50 years, and outside their own town, are hugely unimportant.

I

i know this must be painful reading for newcastle fans but it pretty much sums things up.

because sutheners and londerners come first right, North east doesnt matter right, we provided and mined most the coal in the old days and produced and manufactured loads of steel and things for you important people.

just look at aufwiedersein pet :D :) :D :)

For what its worth, that was a Villa fan giving you the dressing down.

Of course you've been some use to this country in the past, you wouldn't be a city if you hadn't. That doesn't mean your football team is entitled to anything.

North East football is dire look where your fellow teams are.

we should get an achievement for "the biggest underachievers"

watching dyer and bowyer fight is the most excitement ive seen in the last 5 years of watching the toon, its got that bad.
