Was asked by work to sum up my achievements in January as part of some feel-good exercise, and wanted a word to describe why I wouldn't be coming up with anything

You could use 'Quixotic', but that's quite a different meaning to what the OP said. More that you are too concerned with/passionately pursuing the ideals of your work rather than the practical consequences these result in.
But like I said, a far cry from what you want.
