I am meant to be going to a mates wedding in South Wales on Saturday morning (leaving from the east coast of Essex). Driving up a bout 6 or 7 in the morning.
Is this sensible? Looks a bit ropey to me at the moment.
Its not a long trip, most people in the UK think an hr's trip on the motorway as long distance
KaHn
/edit: Also one thing with motorways, they are constantly in use so unless its complete and utter white out you will be fine with the gritters/constant stream of traffic, just take extra care.

Depends entirely on where in wales your going and what the weather does bettween now and then, if it's some out of the way tiny village on the side of a hill and the snow continues then I would suspect you were wasting your time. If it's central Cardiff then you'll be fine.
I would take precautions just incase, pack a blanket a flask of coffee and some chocolate bars people wre stuck on the motorway for 24hrs a couple of years ago.
Best bet is just to wait out and see what the conditions are Sat morning before making a decision. I guess you would be fine tho especially if you keep to the motorways.
Of course I want go to my mates wedding but I also dont want to spend a night freezing my ass off in some welsh valley somewhere stuck on the side of a road. There are warnings about the M4, South Wales had a large amount of snow fall and the advice is dont make a trip if you have to. I think I'll try it but like you say load up on food and take a sleeping bag
