Sorry I thought you said you 'know loads about cars'? Like in a 'theres a pretty red one over there, it has wheels' way you mean?
Looks like you can get a mint show-ready car for £3250. Good everyday runabouts with less than perfect bodywork go for between £1K and £1500.
I've already said he has good mechanical knowledge and could help me. But he has never restored a Mini, not in the condition I was talking about, so he did not know what costs could involved.
You don't need to restore the exact car to have a vague idea how much a resto would cost.
When do your lessions start?
Did I say a banger? I clearly said I have a budget of around 2k.
your going to have a hard time convinving me not to get a classic car when i can for the same money as a banger.
The average intelligence.
yeah that's right, very witty of you![]()
Of course you do, my dad wouldn't know how much specific mini parts would cost for example such as door panels etc.
My lessons start when I have decided what driving school to go with, and when I have checked the financial viability thoroughly of getting a car when I have passed my test, or a few months after.
eBay buy it now and there's one round the corner from me.Thanks, are you just looking at Piston Heads/Autotrader?
Since when is two thousand pounds relative to a 'banger'?
As I said your mother drives a Kia so your term of banger will not be £2000.
You do know how averages work, don't you?
No, my grandparents on boths sides have classic cars, my dad has owned classic cars, my dads best mate has a small collection.
most things under about 4k are a "banger" to me.
But a 90s vectra I would call a banger.
So you're not planning booking any on lessions yet?
Just because they are old if they were around now dosen't make them classic, back then they were just 'cars' or 'old bangers'.
