Domain Name Whois Query

I purchased a domain name last week or week before from 123 Reg, and it appears to be working, but in the whois that status of the website says

Registration status:
Registration request being processed.

On my other .com domains that changed about a day or two after. So does anyone know what's going on, and can this cause problems? I've just read something about a welcome letter or certificate thing from Nominet that I have not received. Also, what's that about?

sounds like 123 being slow tbh. Have several domaisn with them and the change is alwasy quite quick. I'd contact them personally.

"Registration request being processed" will be the status of a domain until the registrar has settled the invoice with Nominet (the central .uk registry), which could be a month or two after the initial registration. It's nothing to worry about. :)

I'm in the 123 Reg support part of their site, but it's terrible. I can't find anywhere to directly ask a question, and their 'contact us' area is inempt.

How do I directly email 123 reg support? I can't believe how terrible that part of their website is in terms of contacting them directly.

If its a UK domain you could wait a while before that changes - had it happen to me a few times. Might happen on com/net etc but I have never seen it.

Thank you for your help

Another 123 reg linked question (rarther than make new thread)

The works domain name is hosted with 123 Reg, and the actual web hosting is with Zen.

It's going to be transferred to myself over the next couple of weeks due to a few reasons. However, I'm new to one or two little areas and could do with a little guidance.

I'd like the domain name to be kept with 123 Reg. However, what's the process of changing ownership of such name. Is it just a matter of the owner starting the transfer in the control panel and then myself accepting it in my control panel on my account and chaning the whois information in the 123 reg control panel?

Also will the existing settings be transfered too, or will I have to recreate those settings. once the domain name has been transfered to my account I.e DNS/MX records.
*EDIT*

It is a .co.uk domain.
Thanks.

Changing the owner (registrant) on a .uk involves going through Nominet, and costs about £10.

Okay, so that's done through the Nominet website?

If that's done, what happens on the 123 Reg side of things? Obviously, I need that domain name in my own account on the 123 Reg website too.

Also, how long does the process take?

Does it matter if the .co.uk domain is listed as individual or in a .ltd company or whatever?

The process of changing the registrant is done through Nominet, yes :)

It won't affect the 123 side of things as they'll just be displaying the data they receive from Nominet, as far as I know (that's what we do).

You should have the ownership of the domain set correctly, yes - if I ran a Ltd company I wouldn't want my domain owned by an individual, as it could cause issues in future.

Brilliant.

So basically I can sort out out so that the details are changed to my name or the company's name and once that's sorted, it can then be transferred internally to my or a new 123 reg account for the company.

Also I will be hosting it with Vidahost..away from the current Zen hoesting. All I plan to do once the domain name is transferred is to point the nameservers to Vidahost. But obviously I need to buy the hosting first and setup relavent email accounts in there so as soon as I change the nameservers everyone should fallinto place..Maybe allow 24 hours or something for the nameservers to sort themselves out. So I plan to do that ona Friday night as I want minimal disruption. We don't currently have a website for our company but I'll be doing one soon once I have full control.

Beansprout, just to make sure...If I order the 2 year Advanced package for 179...I defiantly get the 3rd year free? *I think you work with Vidahost or something*
