NVIDIA GeForce GTS 250 to Make Its Debut at Cebit.....Again.

Pointless.

I don’t think so, makes there range a little easier to understand for the noobs, having the 8, 9 and GTX series can be a little confusing to users so it does make sense, but it's a mess they should never had got themselves in if they just named the cards more logically to start with but hindsight as they say is a wonderful thing. ;)

NVIDIA don't care about "the noobs"

It's repackaged to make more money and make it appear a more modern card and hope people forget it's old tech. It's taking the **** though how many times they can rename a card.

The 8800GT would then have been renamed..TWICE.

Oh sure they do, there the ones that buy the majority of the mainstream cards which is where most of the money comes from.

Right but they don't care about them.

They care about making money by trying to pull the wool over the eyes of people who aren't in the know

I kind of feel sorry for "joe average" these re-hashes are not doing any of them favours what so ever.

Forums will be filled with newbies who buy this hardware thinking performance is not far off a GTX280/260 only to then find out from other users in the know it's actually a repacked 9800GTX from a history ago and is no where close

Getting tedious now and for that reason on principle I prefer ATi

What an odd thing to say, of course it's about money, I dont think anyone in there right mind would disagree. But obviously from a business point of view (what other view can you be thinking of?) customers that buy mainstream cards are very importment, they can't afford not to care about this part of the market. :)

You made it sound like they were doing newbies a favour from this post. This was the thing that seems odd. You've obviously misunderstood my meaning.

They do not care about joe average or at least not in the sense that this post makes out.
