Download Festival Announcement Monday 9th

I've already booked mine and my girlfriends tickets. If even half of the rumours turn out real I'll be happy.

I'd like to go again, although I enjoyed 2007 more than 2008, but have booked the time off work already. Im really waiting to see some bands announced before I part with my cash again though, as money isn't flowing into my bank account at the moment and I have more outgoings for rent etc than I used to.

2008 was good. KISS were epic. But I felt a bit unfulfilled looking back. It may of been because I'm not a fan of camping and trying to take a dump in a cubicle (I didn't for the 3 day).

Unless All 3 main acts are massive bands (No Lost Profits plz) then I might pass on it.

Didn't bother last year, went to Leeds instead as comparatively the lineup and headliners at download were crap.

Booked my RIP tickets back in December and looking forward to the announcement on Monday even though a few of the bands have already self confirmed.

This will be my 5th download and 3rd in RIP :)

What are some of the more juicier rumours guys? I can't be bothered to search myself?

Which bands have self confirmed Fonz?

Heaven and Hell self confirmed a month or so ago as a tour date appeared on there website at donington for the 12th June

Also in Kerrang this week (i think it is this weeks) that Limp Bizkit are playing......

Also as Arsey said Slipknot have self confirmed

nothing on Heaven and Hell`s tour dates page on there website?

New Found Glory are rumored to be playing this. Not a big metal/rock band but I am sure they will get the crowd going :)

If the TBC on efestival get confirmed then the lineup will beat last years hands down already...fingers crossed for monday night as Leeds was full of stupid idiot kids who had been let out by Mummy and Daddy and were drunk by being within a mile of alcohol...Download has a much older and much better crowd and the venue is about 1,000,000 better as well.

Only thing Leeds had going for it was Metallica and RATM last year and they were bloody brilliant.

They were added (apparently) to their website then removed just like slipknot have removed it from their website. Its on Dio's official site on the forums and its a sticky thread. Not much too go on I know. Also the festival organiser didn't confirm them as playing in a recent interview but also didn't say they wouldn't be playing. Just wait till Monday but they should be announced and I hope they do. Download looks like it could shape out to be a decent lineup this year.

Got a ticket for Lamb Of God in Sheffield this month ;)

First time i ever saw slipknot live was at Download 2005 and they were amazing! The hold they have over a crowd is just unbelievable, there are few bands that can command an entire field on rock and metal fans to sit down and jump on on demand and go ******* crazy lol :D

hah, i understand it's impressive the first time you do it, but it gets less monumental every time, the only reason everyone does it is because 80% of people there know it's going to happen, if they'd just come out and tried to do it for the first time they'd get half as many people do it
