Sorry, i meant to say Cannock Chase. Not too sure if they are the same.

Cannock Chase is an official area of outstanding natural beauty.

There are some really good walks alongside the canal system in Warwickshire.

There are masses of public footpaths.

There is a book I used to own called something like "walks in warwickshire" which had a list of walks starting and ending on a pub. To be honest I find the routes in this type of book a little hard to follow and have a suspicion the locals alter the reference points to keep people away.

There are some reservoirs - look at an ordnance survey map. Draycote is well worth a (long) walk around.

There are a National Trust lands which are always pleasant to walk in when they are open. Some NT stuff is not formal, just a chunk of land open to the public all year round but protected by NT ownership.

There is Kingsbury water park - a series of lakes - probably used to be a series of huge gravel pits.

Finally the last thing I can quickly bring to mind is the Burton Dassett country park - fantastic views but gets busy.

Ideas for your next outing :)
