Afternoon all, As the title suggest, I think it might be time to upgrade my x1800xt. Just bought Burnout Paradise and its just about managing to stay at playable framerates (hovers around 23 -30) with settings on mediumish and 2x AA. I don't play a lot of games (burnout is the first game ive played in ages) so I don't really want to spend a lot of money and don't need a top of the range card, just something that will allow me to turn up a few settings and get smoother gameplay.

My system specs are:

X2 4200 (at stock , S939)
Asus A8n-e
2Gb ram (stock speeds)
x1800xt (stock)
Targan 480w (With 2 PCI-E connectors)

I run dual 17inch at 1280 x 1024 (although I only game on one).

Lets set a budget of £100ish. So, what can you guys recommend?

Cheers guys, I saw that Zotac (never heard of them before) one, it has half the memory though. What's the deal with B Grade regarding warrenty etc? I'm sure I've read it somewhere before but can't find it.

Have a Zotac 8800GT (original issue) running on my sons computer. - No problems at all.

Have not read either good or bad reviews ref rma procedure. The company is I believe based in Hong Kong ; no idea where the card might have to be returned to though

You have to register to get the 5 yr warranty - link below

Doubt that the memory doubling (512/1024)will make the slightest difference in actual play at the res you play at.

'B' grade warranty - not sure myself - e-mail ocuk ?

Ok, so the 4830 is looking pretty good. Couple of quick questions though:

1. How long is it? My x1800xt only just fits in my Thermaltake Tsunami Dream case, if its any longer than that I'll have to take out the hdd cage (not really a problem, just an inconvenience)

2. The card is PCI 2.0 with having an older motherboad with what I'm presuming is a 1.0 slot will I lose any performance etc? (graphics cards are the one area I've not been keeping up on).

The ATI card is a bit over 9 inches long.
Most 2.0 cards work fine with 1.1/1.0 motherboads, and you usually only lose in the realms of 5% performance, as at the moment cards generally dont saturate the bandwidth.
