hey guys im interested in getting keyboard, mouse and a mat, as the ones i have are well poo especially for gaming.

im not looking to spend more than £50-60 maxmum for all three and am a bit stumped as i normally just go to the local wilkies and buy a cheap keyboard lol

now keyboard wise im not fussed about multimedia keys although they would be a bonus, just something that will last and will be comfortable for both gaming and typing.

Mouse, well whatevers best witihin the budget really, i used to be an avid CS player and am looking to get back into that type of thing so something decent for playing that type of game will be great.

Mat wise i currently use my wooden desk so in essence i dont have a mat lol anything should be an improvement in this department :p

thanks for all help.

I hear very good things about the Razer Salmosa. I read a few reviews and recommended it to a friend of mine and he is very pleased with it. As for the mat, I can't compliment Roccat Sense enough, especially for the price, I would definately recommend it. That leaves a bit of cash for a keyboard, possibly a lower end gaming board or a good quality multimedia alternative. :)

With that budget i'd be looking to split it in a ratio of 2:2:1 with the keyboard and mouse being the 2:2 bit, something along the lines of a Logitech mx518 / Razer Salmosa, OCZ Alchemy Series Elixir Keyboard (looks like a cheaper Razer Tarantula) then a choice between the various Razer Goliathus mats or Roccat Sense.

I would have 2:1:2 i.e. spend most on the mat and mouse. You don't need a fancy keyboard for games, mine is the basic cheapo microsoft one and is fine for long gaming sessions. I couldn't live without my titan everglide and razer copperhead though...

Sharkoon Gamer Rush Laser Mouse - £15.13 Inc VAT
Very nice comfortable gaming mouse. Granted it doesn't have extra buttons, but it's a great mouse non the less.
you can't go wrong with the Saitek Eclipse 2 Illuminated keyboard £29.89 and is great in the dark.
And a razor Razer MANTIS Control Mouse Mat £9.99 (great mat but is is huge, you might want a smaller one.

interesting approach, I think because im more of a mmorpg gamer im not too worried about a decent mat where as nice programmable keys I like ;) as the OP said he wants to get back into the CS scene it would make sense to follow your idea. As such i'd recommend the mx518 + Razer Exactmat with the spare cash going on just a cheap keyboard (not sure if illumination for night time gaming would be an option here though).

Definitely consider the Logitech MX518 mouse. I have one and I'm using it on my wooden desk and it's great, so you could possibly save some money on a mouse mat.

Id go for a OCZ alchemy elixir keyboard i got one on friday and love using it the macro keys are pretty close to the normal keys which means you dont have to move your hand as much. i prefer it to my G11.
