Asus xonar annoying problems

I've got an Asus xonar DX card with some very annoying issues!

Sometimes when i start my pc up the volume will be really really low, and microphone volume is either nil or really low, i can set everything im using to maximum volume yet its still quiet

Restarting my PC normally fixes it but today i restarted and shut down 3 times and it wouldn't go back to normal so im back on onboard sound for now

Is this a known issue?

OS is vista 64bit if that matters, motherboard P5Q

Never had that problem before (also on Vista 64), have you checked the volume of the devices in the 'mixer' using the Xonar center?

Yep set them to maximum, windows volume also to maximum, tried playing around with all the xonar center settings but nothing seems to make it work

You made sure the FDD power connector is firmly attached?

Yep, definately properly attached

Had my Xonar DX for about a couple of weeks now, and having no problems at all with it.

Im using the latest 17.47 beta drivers, in both XP and the Win 7 beta (Vista 64bit set).
