Its knackered all right, just before its 2nd anniversary, which is 12 months longer than my first xbox 360 lasted.
Ive looked into fixing it, £89 odd for the laser, then the hassle of pulling it apart and the fact it might or might not be the problem, cant be bothered, off to **** to go and get a new one.

I'm going to **** as not only are they the cheapest, they are the only ones with stock at the moment...

Unless anyone has any better bundle links.

The man from sony, he say "no".

Yeah, I haven't been particularly impressed with my refurb 60GB I received last Tuesday. To say it is loud is an understatement, the reason as to why they are picking it up again to try and get it sorted. The BS they try to spiel to you on the phone I was having none of. The woman saying that the fans aren't covered by the warranty!?

Hopefully I will be able to get a replacement that is nice and quiet as just having picked up LBP (which is awesome) and Killzone 2 right around the corner makes me a sad panda.

Can you wait for the Killzone bundle? If not there are a few places on the net that seem to have stock.

Seems that killzone is killing stock levels, sony must be rubbing there hands that they have the killer game at last

Many places seem to have an 80Gb with either LBP, R2, Motorstorm 2 or some other game released in last 3 months for £280.

I am struggling to believe that there is a shortage of stock of PS3 in shops. Everything I have read implies they did not sell well over xmas so I assume there must be loads of stock lying around.

**** have tons of them, **** have some, but they want £300+ for an 80gb with some toilet games.
Woolies has gone, and no one else sells them within a radius I can be bothered to drive in this afternoon.

If you order online you will get it tomorrow or day after. Can you live that long without one? (I know it is hard when you have your mind set on something you want on the day all online places seem like a waste, despite the price savings :) ).

Also your posts have a lot of competitors in it!

Bah, didnt think!!

As for being cheaper online and no stock issues, just look at how much a large internet retailer wants for a standalone 80gb model, yes thats right £349.

You can pick up a replacement bluray lens for around £35-40 and that is 99.9% certain to be the cause of your BD drive failure. Are the symptoms that it will not play any disc media if so its the lens failed so just get a replacement!!
