Upgrade from my old X1900?

I'm looking to upgrade my monitor to the Acer G24, so while I am at it I thought I'd spend a few extra quid on the rest of my system. My current spec is:

Asus P5B
Intel E6600 2.40GHz @ 3.0Ghz
2GB PC6400 800MHz DDR2
HIS ATI Radeon X1900 XT 512MB GDDR3

Since the new screen will run at 1900 x 1200, I play quite a few games and Farcry2 was really taxing my system, I'm thinking maybe I should upgrade my GFX?

Am I right in thinking the best performance boost I will get for that price will be to upgrade the GFX card? What do you guys recommend for less than £150?

me2 :D but i dont want to spend over £100 (looking at 9800's) but don't know if its 'time' to upgrade yet, i normally like to wait untill my current card.. or system can no longer cope with new games untill i upgrade but am very tempted to get a new card

Thanks for the replies.

Is it worth the extra cash for the 4870?

Will I notice a big difference between my old X1900 and a 4830?

My preference would be for a card that blows the hot air out of the case, but I guess I can fine tune that once I decide on which GPU.
