Why would somebody who started the thread in the first place to ask for opinions be an 'anti fanboy'
Nobody is born a fanboy.

Would much prefer a 5k st220 to a 10k vxr tbh.

edit: would also prefer a £500 cavalier v6 to a 5k vectra aswell lolol

Oh look another typical Vauxhall thread turns sour, like a stuck record funny how it’s always the same person.

Yea I'm the only person who has criticised Vauxhall in this thread, Nobody else exists, the whole of motors is just me. I'm responsible for all the ills and badness.

Which is why it continued unabated whilst I was banned in December.

damn straight, you ****

The 150PS SRi with LSD was good crack when I had it, was still tottaly inferior to the Mondeo. I haven't had a try of a ST TDCI yet though. It's a good looking car and cheap, but so's the equiv Mondeo.

No but comment like this are not called for, you are the one that stands out as every Vauxhall thread you come in and post irrelevant spout everytime.

Life is too short to think about Vauxhalls, in much the same way as its too short to worry about Aldi and Lidl. You've even just conceeded that the Vectras main rival is so much better you'd chose it without question..

I was addressing his comment that there was never any perspective when commenting on Vauxhalls. Do you have anything related to the topic at hand to add to this thread or are you going to continue to just post off-topic criticism in a major display of hypocricy?

Major display of hypocrisy? Yeah okay, just forget it nope nothing of interest to add, just picking on something that is becoming very tiresome, why the need to constantly throw sly comments about VX cars and people that own them? You know I can quite happily say life is too short to constantly post on these forums just like you do, see that comment is about as useful as the one you made about Aldi etc...

It's not really toss just because it makes you feel daft for spending 5 figures on a Vauxhall Vectra ;)

unfortunately it is

i drove the VXR and the ST220 back to back

to say the ST220 is vastly superior to the VXR is simply not true. The mondeo ST220 suffers from the same cheap quality interior plastics that the vectra suffers from. Just look at the surround on the clock for instance !

The VXR is faster on paper, and feels it as well. Id say the two handle about the same, and have very similar ammounts of space. The one thing the ST does have however is more toys. But then the VXRs seats are much grippier affairs. They feel like bucket seats. The Recaros in the ST220 are much sloppier and the side bolsters further out.

To call either of the two cars vastly superior to the other is a lie. And herin lies your problem, you dont get enough extra from the VXR to warrant its extra price tag. But the post was worded such that the VXR is pure dross, purely because it has a vectra badge. Which isnt true.

Im hopefully bringing it along to the RR.

Depending on funds, it may even be pushing 300bhp and 400lb/ft of torque then (£550 for a remap).

I'll gladly do some passenger rides :)

Every Vauxhall dealer i've been to says they dont have demo VXR models and there is no way to test drive one but they are good, honest, so would I like to order one anyway.

the ammount of dealer knowledge on the vectra VXR is shocking

Trying to find out what was standard and what was optional was a nightmare. Trying to find out an answer to the simple question of "are xenons standard" was very hard. Different dealers told me different things. One said you could get optional xenons without AFL (adaptive forward lighting) and optional xenons with it (but not standard), another said xenons were again optional, but that it was only possible with AFL and you couldnt have one without the other. Another said that xenons were standard.

You will quite often find as well that dealers advertise that cars have "climate control" when they in fact only have the standard automatic air conditionning (auto activates the aircon when you set the temperature dial to cold).

Trouble is, the vectra vxr and zafira vxr are very low volume sellers. The astra and corsa sell by the bucketloads, and as a result tuners like regal and courtenay do loads of products for them. But they list nothing for the vectra other than a remap :( Only reason zafira gets loads of tuning products is because it uses the astra vxr engine and most bits are a straight swap. But theres so little out there as its such a low volue seller, so theres not much geared up for it in the tuning community. And the dealers are the same. My salesman said he'd been working at the daalership over a year and this was the first vectra vxr he'd seen in the flesh.
