q6600 bottleneck gtx 260 ?

Ok lol be serious,

No it won't, if it was 260 SLI then yes it would you would then need to at least 3Ghz to reap the benefits though i doubt your board supports SLI

Obviously though you would see performance increase with an OC on the Q6600

Do you have a dell case?

TBH 2.4GHZ is to low for a 260, if your not bothered about the odd dip in FPS in CPU intensive moments in games then it will be OK.

I think most modern GPU's really become noticeably better when paired with a 3GHz+ Processor!

Don't know the technical reasons but that's my experience when testing with a Geforce 8800GT/8800GTS(G92) and a Radeon HD4850!

yeah my board supports sli, all i really wanna know is that is it worth the upgrade? will i notice a improvement from my 8800gtx? even though the cpu is abit slow

It doesn't bottleneck it

Obviously all performance in games will be increased with a higher clocked cpu no matter what card it was

It does! wow lol I was gonna say it may be worth upgrading the motherboard. before the card

as for if the upgrade worth it depends on what res you game at

Putting a GTX 260 into one of the rubbish Dell boards may not be all an improvement. They really aren't designed for a hardcore GPU like that. The most Dell supply even in their top spec XPS was a 8800 GT.

Id stick with the 8800GTX at that res tbh, maybe get a second?

I have 8800Ultra SLI only thing that really stresses it is Crysis.

If you have got any spare molex connectors you could use a 2 molex to 1 6 pin pci-e connectors.

Obviously you need two off these so 4 free molex connectors

well ive just updated me mates pc it was a dell it had a 8600gt tbh i cant remeber the cpu we finaly fitted a evga 260 and a corsair 650w psu (very tight fit we had to mod the case, sata cables etc but once it was fitted we ran a test in crysis at a save he had from the last setup he said it ran realy fast much faster then the last card.

let me see what the specs was hang on

no sorry lost the info it was a Dell Inspiron 530 VILV tho if that helps
