Angel of the South

Is it gong to be a stallion or a mare? It'd be so funny if when it's finally finished all you can see when you look up is stallion's 66' love length.

The angel of the north is a complete eyesore, especially with elbow sheee-raaah's shirt draped over it that time - but that there in the picture really is something else!

I don't know anyone who doesn't like it.

Really? People up here are very defensive over it sometimes but in my experience its one of those things people either love or hate in equal measure.

It's good to see that in times of financial difficulty money is being spent on worthwhile things. I mean when you stand in Kent the first thing that hits you is "This place is in dire need of **** off great big horse", the reason why this need hasn't been addressed sooner is my only concern.

:D

First they ruin the "garden of England" by cutting it up and sticking the vast majority of much needed houses in one county, then this. FFS, why is Kent being masturbated on?

Also, a horse? I mean you go past that and think "oh a giant horse..", at least the Angel of the North looks pretty arty/cool.

A white horse is the symbol from the Kentish coat of arms.

Although a rearing horse would probably have looked better than a horse just...standing there.

Edit: Beaten by a country mile.

But knowing how well UK.plc builds things these days, it'll probably fall over within a few months.

"Credit crunch? La la la la la i cant hear you...." says Govt arty types

if its a horse..why is it being dubbed 'the angel of the south'

the angel of the north looks at lease vaguely like a man with wings..hence an 'angel'

I would prefer to see a 160ft tall archer pointing his longbow towards france!

Angel of the North is awesome to be honest. It looks fantastic standing atop its hill :)

A giant horse is gonna look a bit naff i reckon!

It would be more suitable as an "Angel of the East" because at least there is Newmarket there which is famous for horse racing...
