Brazil vs Italy **Spoilers**

Not watching it, but I've looked at the line up and I think Lippi's got it wrong.

Rather annoying really. He didn't even put Del Piero in the squad - And he's been scoring some wonderful goals, especially when teams are in trouble, and he has so much experience.

I dont think Montolivo should be playing, Luca Toni and Quagilarella have both scored more goals than him, and have both played less games.
Giuseppe Rossi has also scored 13 or so goals in 20 appearences.

Most of the squad is over 25, The starting 11 are all mainly 30+, People like Aquilani and Rossi should be getting the first team experience, not the 30+.

Bit miffed :( Although i'm not watching it.

Just watched this last 5 minutes - Brazils marking and pressure looks good, closing Italy down quickly and not giving them space to play.

But seriously, this seems to be a poor performence from Italy, no spark or hunger for the ball, especially on the attack, just playing it back, then whacking it forward.

I'm dissapointed :(

Put some fairly average looking birds in a yellow kit and get them to wave a flag about and dance a bit and all of a sudden they are fit as ****, how do they do that?

Aye not good for them brazil are dominating could be a slaugther in the end, they thrashed portugal 6-2 in november :o

See elanos shot from quite way out? I actually shouted out as I thought that was in :|

Brazil are on a another planet in terms of football skill and flare they have it in abundance, just a joy to watch :) Cracking game so far good to see Ronaldinho back :D

Thing is - Brazil have been AWFUL in the qualifying for World Cup. Paraguay have been destroying teams. Brazil and Argentina are both 4 points behind them. Paraguay beat Brazil 2-0, and drew 1-1 with Argentina.

Bucket I watched some of the South America world cup quals and the pace of football is insane lol so good to watch :D

I haven't caught any of them, who have you seen?

EDIT: Viper: They've either been drawing, or walkovers. They've been really inconsistent - Perhaps not awful, but not on form really.

EDIT Again: Lovely, Lippi made the changes I hoped for, now lets hope theres a difference :D

Marcello and robinho are like twins :o

Ive seen bits of paraguay and some argentina games they are on at silly o clock in the morning on skysports usually. Very high level of football and an incredible speed at times really quite impressive!

Ahhhh. Hopefully will see some in the World Cup next year then.

Italy have had a bit more bite in this second half, but i'm just sad at the amount of loose balls they're leaving in the box and the final 3rd, just nobody up there, Toni can't do it himself.

My thoughts too when I saw the lineup.

The front was all wrong. Pepe just isn't influencial enough and Di Natale is far too inconsistant.

De Rossi was a let down again but Montolivo was hardly in a the game either.

Stange decisions indeed. Not like Lippi to mess around, its not as if the best 11 are all aging like before where he had to give the younger players a chance. There are some genuinely good young players on the bench who need to be starting games like this (Rossi, Aquilani).

Toni should start every Italy game as the striker because there is nobody else who can do that job aswell as him.

Actually glad they lost now because hopefully that will teach him that not choosing your best 11 is stupid. All the starting lineup needed was Panucci and I would have sworn Donadoni had chosen it :p

Havent seen the national team play much (didnt watch tonights game) but from spending few months in brazil end of last year, i went to a few games in the brasilian premier league equivalent, and the way they play is a lot diff to the prem :D

from my expert football point of few (i did used to play champ man religiously for years :p) its quit clear there is a lot more emphasis on attack, ie. when going forward, its common to be 6,7 players all running into the box, and they will quite happily leave only 3/4 players back in case anything goes wrong

the midfield play a lot more forward, and its not like the prem where they will be happy to pass it around from attack back to midfield back to defence back to the goalie - when this does happen - the crowd go crazy, they hate it, they expect the ball to be going forward at all time

I thought Braziiiiiil were the better side for the majority of the game, they moved and passed beautifully and were a joy to watch.

I was a little shocked by Italy's line up if I'm honest, I think Lippi got things wrong.

Great entertainment to be honest, enjoyed every second of it.
