Best registry cleaner for XP?

I use CCleaner and RegCompact but I see no appreciable difference... Are there any better ones about?

What sort of difference are you expecting? You won't see any performance gain from reg cleaning. Hell, I remember reg cleaning win98se many years ago [the thrill of removing 321 'invalid entries'!]. After a while it became apparent that there was nothing to gain and everything to lose so I packed it in.

Well, I don't expect it to get quite as fast as a fresh install, but at least a difference I can feel...
Obviously, when I have a few days free I'll reinstall everything, but I don't just now, and won't for the next several weeks so I thought a few minutes running a registry cleaner would be a good stop-gap solution.
So in fact there's nothing better around?

None, never seen one do any noticeable good but have seen plenty that have broken things badly.

Used registry first aid for the past 5 years or so, never had any problems with it.
always had beneficial results.

I've used this for a few years now..not freeware but some nice tools included..helped me out many times in the past
