Yes, I've left it late. Far, far too late.

Every restaurant I've tried (around 15) are fully booked, with the only half decent one having a single table available at 10.30PM.

I've even tried the theatre, there's four seats available, spread out throughout the whole venue.

I'm in Sheffield by the way. Has anyone any recommendations for restaurants? Or something else that can replace a restaurant?

HELP! :p :(

Mandatory oxo tower comment.

But on a serious note, maybe something a bit different. How about a picnic, or a trip into the countryside and a nice pub lunch?

I was going to suggest cooking as well. I'd much prefer that to going to an overpriced for one night only restaurant.
Its just one night, I cant understand all the emphasis and fuss that goes into it.

Im sure everyones valentines day goes something like.....All lovey dovey, card/present + dinner then sex ?
(assuming you are with her on the day, or with someone else?!) If you get that far OP :p

I've said I'll stay in and cook - her words were "We're going out. I told you to sort this ages ago" - and now is threatening to sort it herself.

I might just end up killing her. It'll save money and effort. :p

I know, it's a load of bull**** dreamt up by the advertisers. She's a shallow bugger at heart, bless.

cook for her... much more romantic.

Totally! That's the only option, if she's got and sense she'll appreciate it much more. Take the same money you would have spent in the restaurant and spend it on a home cooked meal, flowers etc.
