EVGA superclocked GTX 260 B grade

Just ordered one for a backup rig, which one did you go for mate, im wondering if their stock levels are not updating fast enough...

I went for the EVGA GeForce GTX 260 "Core 216 SSC", the best buy out of the three.

Wtf, im looking at the ex VAT prices.

Im going back to bed.

Yeah they changed it recently, made the same mistake earlier.

Personally I think it's about time they made that change, it was my main pet hate on the OcUK website.

I've read that the step-up goes with what they price the card at, not what you paid for it no?

That would make sense, otherwise it would be a nightmare for them checking reciepts etc, they sell cards to most retailers at roughly the same price I would imagine so it really makes sod all difference what price you actually paid for it.

Nope. I have the 192 standard version, looked to step-u when the 3 months were nearly up and they take off the price you paid for the card minus the delivery and tax. Decided not to do it as it wasn't worth the change. Would have cost about £150 just to step up to the 216 version!

Its how much you paid for it so if you paid £170 then thats how much they will give you for your card on step up. You have to enter where you bought it from and the exact price minus shipping.

Are they meant to come with free scratches, one side really unpolished compared to the other and scratched PCI connecters as if it's been used a lot? I thought these were clearance, not B grade?

Is that why they were cheaper, because they were returned? I don't mind if that's to be expected of clearance items, but I thought that was what B grade meant?

EDIT: WTF is going on? I load GPU-Z and it says it's 65nm, with core 670MHz, mem 1152MHz and shaders 1404MHz. I brought the 55nm version clocked at 625mhz...and it makes an awfully loud whining noise with 3D.

To the best of my knowledge there wasn't a clearance 55nm version.

If the card is in any way faulty, send it back.

B grade does not mean damaged, just maybe missing a few retail bits.

And these were not B-grade they were clearance lines, full retail. Can you take photos of what you recieved? Mine isn't here yet.

Mines just arrived, mint and sealed!

Cheers ocuk.

Good to hear.

This is what I ordered:

Full retail, no mention of 55nm.

Indeed, they are 65nm clearance, making room for 55nm in the range no doubt.

Mine arrived today, both sealed and mint, ordered the same as you Sweetloaf. Core 216 SSC Editions with FarCry 2 and they even came with those Mirror Edge Vouchers! Very pleased!

My mistake about the 55nm. Oh well, I've ended up with one clocked at 670MHz, which isn't a bad thing, but take a look at the pics (can't really see the marks on the connector in the pic):

Can someone else confirm that it whines really loud when running something really intensive like ATITool?

There was never any mention of a 55nm version, it doesn't even say they are 65nm but if you look up the model numbers it's pretty clear they are the older version. TBH there isn't really much advantage to the 55nm versions, the lower temps are lost due to a cheaper cooler design and although it consumes slightly less power in idle mode, it consumes slightly more than the 65nm version under load.

Btw: Are you sure it's clocked to 670? It's the same as mine, any chance of a GPU-Z screenshot?
