yeah... mccoys used to be the muts nuts, quite poor these days

probably due to them taking all the stuff out that isnt brilliant for you, salt etc...

Seabrooks seem to be very well regarded in the crisp world, but I've never tried them myself.

One thing I've wondered, actually....since leaving Northern Ireland I haven't seen Spring Onion flavoured crisps ANYWHERE. Do you English even have them, or is this another case of decent Pasties not being available over here?

Somerfield Finest Sea Salt and Balsamic Vinegar handcooked crisps are actually amongst the best I've tasted, the flavour isn't as intense as Discos or even Squares used to be but very well balanced.

Kettle Chips Salt and Vinegar are normally good but can be very variable in the flavour quality.

im but of a lover of the old salt and vinegar crisp
on sunday i discovered the most intense salt and vinegar crisps EVER
SEABROOKS, my god, eat a pack of them then inhale, you loose your breath and start coughing. they are awesome

if you know of any other uber sharp salt and vinegars please post them here as i must try them out

Seabrook are really amazing crisps, in all flavours. Don't really see them very often though.

And not at all cheap these days; I only buy them when there's an offer of some kind going. But I agree, they're the best I've had in recent years.

I'm a big fan of the salt & vinegar peanuts as well... they sound weird, but taste wonderful... especially the bits at the end of the bag. Eating that stuff probably knocks weeks off your life and pushes your blood pressure up to the Moon, but what a way to go!

Seabrook crisps "were" awesome until they decided to change them about 3years ago.

The flavours have all become very salty now, especially the cheese and onion variety.

That said, seabrooks do knock the spots off most crisps, with the exception of Brannigans.

MMMM BRANNIGANS :D

I've never had Seabrooks, I honestly don't think they're sold in Cambridge.

Disco's used to knock your socks off if I recall.
