Today I noticed that my PSU has been making a high pitched whining noise when the switch on the back is on (doesn't matter if the computer is on or not). As far as I know, this has got something to do with the capacitors right? Well, I think it's safe to say it needs replacing anyway. However, even with this noise I still should be able to boot my computer shouldn't I? When I turn the computer on I don't get a picture or any beeps - the fans spin up but nothing happens on screen. Does this mean the motherboard has gone too? Is there any way for me to check?
My spec is:
Antec SmartPower 450W
E6320
Gigabyte S3 P965
2GB GeIL PC6400
6600GT
2x 500GB HDDs (Seagate 7200.11 and WD AAKS)
Thanks
