Sounds like a pretty cool idea but still won't make me buy movie games. I wonder if the movie will be in HD or SD?

Exercising the huge disc capacity advantage PS3 has over the competition, Sony will, later this year, release video game and movie hybrid discs that will contain both a film and a video game based on the film. As gamers are well aware, film property is often licensed for video game adaptations, and Sony's idea would marry the two entertainment mediums together.

Games > Films and Films > Games rarely work.

I know there's exceptions to the rule, but I can't see it working. The most you'll get is a Pixar film, with it's game counter-part bundled in at an insane price imo.

I'd imagine that with the larger BDs' coming out they would be HD as well as the game. As you said Robert it wouldn't make me buy movie games, but I wouldn't say no to having them.

It is a nice idea, but if they end up making it so that the movie can ONLY be played on the PS3 and by accessing it from ingame and not viewable on a standalone blu-ray player, then there really isn't any point. I'm looking at you Stranglehold and Hard Boiled!

Rubbish idea. Combo discs will be ridiculously priced.

Best thing would be maybe have demo's of games on Blu-ray movies, but no point as these would just be the normal crappy movie tie in games and you can get demos free on PSN and XBL anyway.

Was going to say the same thing. Whilst its a great idea, I don't think the games company or film company will be too happy to lose their cut, so I reckon it'd be like £40 (game price) + £25 (blu ray price).
Good idea though!
