...but i've already got the cab off the chassis!

Had to cut slots in all the bodywork screws as the philips head screws don't give any support when trying to undo and just round off, i needed to chisel a few of the to free them up, but the front end finally came off.

5 minutes with a forklift and access becomes sooo much easier :)

Engine and box are out (and are apparently worth about a fiver :()
x-fer box and props are next, then it's time to hang the pug derv engine and box and start making up some engine mounts.

Discovered that a previous owner didn't want to weld near the fuel spout so they patched up the holes another way ....

Forgot how little mileage i'd put on the clutch before i took it off the road too! (60 quid down the pan!)

Soon i'll be able to fit the wider axles and powersteering i've had gathering dust for a while, yay!

Essjay should be back on the road by xmas :D (at the rate i work these days).

Swapping the petrol engine in my 410 for a diesel and DOUBLING the power output to 70bhp. Diesel motor should let me go playing in the water too :)

Pfft. I've DEFINITELY got the slowest motor on the forum now, no arguments :p

The bodywork is held together with philips head machine thread screws, not self tappers (not yet anyway)

Not tempted to build a nice lightweight minimalist body for it? Screw in a seat and a bit of rollover protection and you're good to go :D

Looks to be quite a fun project!

What do you plan to use as the TX and Gbox? How does the weight of the pug engine compare to the one removed? Are you planning to move the engine back a bit to gain a better weight dist?

I'm going to use the original TX box and the gbox from an LDV Pilot. I only need to move things back a touch to allow for the longer gbox. In the rest of europe you could buy a 1.9d SJ from the dealers, it just never arrived in the uk.

If you dont put a lifty kit in it now then burn it now:p

2" lift is what you need:D(Through the Chassis not the Suspension
