Recommend me a restaurant in Nottingham

If you like saltwater you should check Pitch & Piano and Brass Monkeys down the lace market too. Similar sort of people and atmosphere :)

Never actualy went to Santa Fe. Was that a shot bar just selling spirits or the wine bar?

Love Brass Monkey, while P+P is an amazing building I find it has no atmsosphere at all

Lol, i was on Rivermead in Cotgrave until last year. I'm not 10ft from a Cotgravian as i type this reply.
Better check my pockets! :(

:D

Truth be told it's gotten a lot better over the past year or so....still a fair amount of little scrotes but they aren't causing half as much trouble.

Saw on the news recently about the couple who got stomped near the Manver's in Radcliffe On Trent. It's a shame as you'd expect these kind of villages to be decent places. Love the location, pity about the people who live there. Hopefully at some point in the future we'll have enough money to move over to Tollerton or Clipston!

yeah, my mrs knew them, or knew someone who knew them....you know how it goes. :o

I got pepper sprayed by some little *** last year in Cotgrave. It was at the time that all the old school residents were starting to lose tolerance with the chav massive and started handing out beatings to them.
Glad we got out. Our house in Radcliffe is nice, nice neighbours etc. Kids go to Danecourt school though :(

I also like the Living Room as I'm in love with the manageress lol.

Yes, the manageress at the Living Room is definitely worth one. I'm pretty sure she has a bf/husband though as I've seen her with a guy in the daytime there and they very intimate together.

I've really gone off P&P. Its been really empty the last few times I've been (Usually Saturday nights) and doesn't have the atmosphere it once had.

P+P is nice in the summer sitting outside. Also it can be totaly dead saturday night yet you go in the next sunday night when town is usauly quiet and it's as busy as some other bars on a saturday night.

Yeah it's an amazing building. I somtimes like going in when it's not to busy sitting down with a stella and just looking around at the architecture.

P & P isn't like it used to be. Best time to go is mid-week usually though - we used to go fairly often for work leaving do's, had a fair few heavy nights there. They spoil it at the weekends by playing ridiculous pop music - i guess to attract the average person there, but it really doesn't fit with the venue.

My favourite Notts bar is Eleven in Hockley. Small, cramped, but there's always spectacular looking women there.

anyway, i live in Beeston at the moment, lived all over the place and only been in Nottingham for a few years.

I kinda liked P&P but never really as a restaurant. It tries to be too much and I think the novelty has worn off for a lot of people.

The Hockley area, as some people have said, has some good bars. But there seem to be a lot of quite pretentious people around there.

I don't live in Nottingham anymore. I was there as a postgrad student (professional training) for two years and I lived in Radford (*shudder*) and then the Hyson Green area (not so bad). Neither are somewhere I would care to live again though.

I think eleven has gone down hill, used to be really good electro saturday nights, now its seems more gay/indie?!

Im from West Bridford by the way

I was born in Carlton then moved to mapperley in my teens. Then travelled for 10 years in the UK and went to live in the US. Now I live in radford unfortunately.

Does anyone goto The Social at all?

That place use to be rocking about 4 years ago and me and my friends were in there everynight of the week during happy hour and it was always rammed. Now it's dead though.

On the contrary, I think that Nottingham is generally underrated. It's certainly undeserving of the bad press it sees. The shopping is great (6th in the UK as ranked by CACI & Experian), nightlife is decent and varied, the restaurant scene is good as highlighted here, there is some impressive architecture particularly Fothergill's designs, large swathes of the city centre are pedestrianised for easy navigation and the transport links are excellent (award winning bus services, NET Tram system.

It takes a lot of stick but I'm a big fan of Nottingham.

aayzof.... you not been in the past couple of years?
Its changed a lot mate. Its a lot nicer than it was, better restaurants, nicer looking architecture too. Not that i'm a connoisseur, but having visited a few other cities Nottingham doesn't fair too bad at all imho.
