Best of 3 rounds. i.e. first to 2. Whole thing is done and dusted in less than 5 minutes.

The two opponents can have a tune up fight to decide this? Not sure how to really settle this one, never thought of it to be honest.

Does anyone know if there will be a spectate mode? Would be good to have someone else to witness the fights.

I have been reading forums and from what I gather it is just classic 1 on 1 with no spectator mode. There is a chance this free Championship addon released soon may change that into 6 player rooms or something, but no idea when that is coming (or if that will have spectate).

I wouldn't have additional fights between players to decide anything tbh. (as to which side they play on like you suggested). Maybe something like person who picks side gets 2nd choice of character (assuming there is no fix on character and you are letting people select freely based on their opponents choice, the 2nd person will be at a disadvantage, if you see what I mean).

I suspect host will be 1P and guest will be 2P.

im guessing the game will have its own system for randomly selecting who is 1p/2p is should stay random unless both sides can agree otherwise.

im also guessing you can spectate if there is a 3+ player room, the player waiting should watch be able to watch the match then im guessing there will be a way for the player to skip his turn (like in sc basically). but if not then i guess a pic at the end would be enough, though i reckon people aint gonna lie anyway about a casual tourney like this :)

really simple rules should be set like amount of rounds, time limit, no. of matches, character swopping... people shouldnt have a choice over this. they should be able to choose when they play and are already given a very generous 1 week to pick a suitable time. its actually a lot easier to follow rules that make sense than to make up your own.

Good idea. I might set up my tri-pod and film my match just for fun. :) Others are welcome to do the same.

with picking who goes 1p and 2p, if the match ups are drawn randomly, you can set who gets to be 1p and who is 2p there?

eg if the draw was:
1p Robert1986 v Jonny_no2 2p

think that is fair, and it's just the luck of the draw. If being 2p is so much of a disadvantage then the online game will be rubbish tbh
 
there isnt a real disadvantage between 1p/2p outside of personal preference which is a moot point really
