Full HD TV On a PC?

i think you are confusing the issue

having an hdmi connection on your gc and monitor or tv means that you can connect the computer to the montior/tv with an hdmi lead

it does not mean you get TV on your computer

to do that you would need a TV card in your computer and im not sure if they do HD ones yet ?

and there are very few channels that broadcast HD..

Read the post above, if you weren't reffering to HD TV as a service, but as a type of Television itself, then all you will need is a television with a HD resolution, and a HDMI input, or a DVI one if you are using an LCD monitor, as a HDMI cable only adds HD audio, a DVI cable can still transmit a full HD signal, and if you're using speakers directly connected to the computer, that's not a problem.
 
after re reading the OP

another way , if this is what you mean, is to get a blueray drive in your computer

and get some blue ray discs

then you can watch HD films on your computer in all their glory

(but this isnt TV its films you have to buy or rent)

what i mean is, if i wanted to say have hd channels from sky / freesat on my pc how would i do this? do i need a hd tuner or just a digital tuner?
