The 285 is faster hands down so for the £30 it will cost me to step up it seems worth it.

Only differences are, they've shrunk the 280 and stuck it on a smaller process (55nm now instead of 65nm), got Rivatuner out and overclocked it (which is free), and then changed the 0 to a 5 so they can bang it back out at a much higher price, as its now become a higher series card, and they had to can the 280's, so no one could buy those instead of the 285's and do the overclock themselves.
Nvidia are sods for doing that, has to be said =/

Whats the issue, the 285 is a refresh of the 280. Its not like they've done a 8800gts/9800gtx all over again.

Yeah i agree, but i think their justification is we have to pay the extra cash for the technology of the 55nm
